Ar-Rukn Al-Yamaanee | The Yemeni Corner – Photos and Information

Ar-Rukn Al-Yamaanee is the south-western corner of the Ka‘bah, named according to its geographical position, i.e. facing Yemen.

When the Messenger of Allaah (PBUH) would circumambulate the Ka‘bah (tawaaf), he would touch the Yemeni Corner in each circuit, without kissing it or saying Allaahu Akbar. Notably, if you cannot touch it, you should not point to it, as we do with the Black Stone. The Prophet (PBUH) informed us that “Touching the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner indeed erases sins.” [Ahmad]

Finally, when the Messenger of Allaah (PBUH) passed between the area of the Yemeni corner and the Black Stone during tawaaf, he would recite the following du‘aa’ repeatedly; “Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.” [2:201]
