Zamzam is the name of a famous well in Al-Masjid Al-Haraam, it is the best and noblest of all waters, which was dug by the angel Jibreel (AS). The Prophet (AS) said regarding Zamzam’s virtues;

– “Verily, it is blessed; it is food that nourishes and a healing for sickness.” [Al-Bazzaar & At-Tabaraani]

– “The water of Zamzam is for whatever it is drunk for.” [Ibn Maajah]

It was reported that when Ibn ‘Abbaas (RA) drank from the water of Zamzam, he said, “O Allaah, I ask you for beneficial knowledge, plentiful provision and healing from every disease.” [‘Abdur-Razzaaq]

The Zamzam Well entrance is located diagonally behind the Maqaam Ibraheem towards Mount Safaa 21m from the Ka‘bah; however since 2004 it has been closed to make more spaces for prayer.
